"April Fool"
 by: Ezell Cox

A number of TSBA fishing friends were in radio range of my marine radio and we were all talking and having a good time. David and Lisa Osbourne (Striperguy and Gal) were fishing close enough to me that we could have communicated with each other without radios. The catching had been better then normal as I had already released a 41 pound fish and everyone talking had reported some big fish.
As daylight was about gone I hooked into a fish that felt like a speeding train and I shouted my delight over to David and Lisa. After a long hard fight I had the fish to the boat as David was giving a play by play over the radio. It is very difficult to be disappointed with a 32 pound striper even if expectations were of a record! As I pulled the foul hook from the stripers tail and released it David and Lisa reminded me it was April 1st! When everyone on the radio was trying to question how big it was, David answered "his scale only goes to 50 pounds and he went to find a certified scale!" I had a good laugh as I listened, but I remained radio silent!
